Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
All students from K-6 have the opportunity to participate in weekly singing lessons with our choir teacher Miss Tanis. Our school choir perform at various school events as well as within the wider community at the Coffs Harbour Eistedfod and Education Week performances at Park Beach Plaza.
We also offer private music tuition in a range of instruments such as piano, guitar, clarinet and percussion.
Throughout the year, we offer a range of lunch time enrichment programs which allow students to develop new skills and gain confidence in a variety of areas. Programs include Rubics Cube Club, Skipping Squad, Coding & Robotics, Minecraft Education, Animation Filmmaking and Craft Club.
Throughout the year, all students participate in a range of sport programs which are taught by specialist coaches from organisations within our community. Sports include basketball, NRL, tennis, soccer, AFL, golf and volleyball. These programs compliment our weekly PDHPE lessons.
Students also have the opportunity to participate at cross country, athletics and swimming carnivals. Students in years 5/6 can also try out for PSSA sporting teams in soccer, football, netball etc.
Each Friday, a group of students from years 3-6 are selected to prepare a healthy meal as part of our Kids in the Kitchen program. Meals are prepared utilising ingredients grown in our school vegetable gardens. As part of the program, students learn safe food preparation skills, and work alongside a qualified chef to cook healthy meals and also clean up.
Gumbaynggirr Language Lessons
Our students engage in weekly lessons taught by local Gumbaynggirr language tutors where they enjoy learning basic Gumbaynggirr phrases, words, stories and songs. Our Gumbaynggirr language program is growing each year and provides great opportunities for all of our students to deepen their understanding and connection to local Aboriginal culture.
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Our school canteen offers a range of healthy options to supplement school lunch boxes. The canteen is run by parent volunteers and is open during recess and lunch each Friday. Lunch orders are not available for recess, however students may buy a selection of items from the canteen during recess time.
Our lunch meal deal options are sent home weekly with our newsletter, so keep an eye out for weekly specials.
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
is suitable for all body shapes.
Learn more about the NSW Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy.
You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.
We assess each application on a case-by-case basis. Find out more at Using school facilities.
